Write Your Own History: Wellness, Purpose & the Power of Women Together

Hi Ladies,

March is Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate the fearless women who came before us and recognize that we, too, are making history—with every choice we make for our health, our purpose, and our community.

I believe true wellness is multi-dimensional. While on my own personal wellness journey and while creating the She Chose Wellness community I have discovered what I believe are the pillars of wellness for women hoping to live with intention and thrive. The pillars of wellness that I believe are essential and the foundation of wellness for women are —Physical Health, Hormonal Health, Mental & Emotional Well-Being, Spiritual Health, Environmental Wellness, and Financial & Career Wellness. And at the heart of it all? The power of community.

Wellness isn’t just about eating well or exercising, it’s about creating a life that nurtures every part of you. Through my personal journey and while developing this community, I’ve come to understand that true well-being is built on a strong foundation. These pillars of wellness aren’t just checkboxes; they are guiding principles for women who want to live with intention, take control of their health, and create a lasting legacy. Each pillar plays a crucial role, but at the center of it all is something even more powerful: community. Because when women come together, support one another, and uplift each other, we don’t just transform our own lives—we change the world.

The Pillars of Wellness: A Foundation for Your Legacy

Live in Your Purpose (Spiritual Health & Financial & Career Wellness) – Your calling, your work, and your financial well-being all contribute to your overall wellness. Living in your purpose means aligning your career, finances, and faith with what truly fulfills you. Step boldly into your calling and trust that the resources will follow.

Prioritize Your Health (Physical & Hormonal Health) – Your body is the foundation of everything you do. Nourish yourself with movement, balanced nutrition, and lifestyle habits that support your hormones. A thriving body leads to a thriving life.

Stop Playing It Safe (Environmental Wellness & Spiritual Health) – Your surroundings shape your mindset and energy. Whether it's decluttering your home, changing your circle, or deepening your faith, true wellness requires courage and intention.

Build a Strong Support System (Mental & Emotional Well-Being) – Wellness isn’t just about what you do; it’s about who you surround yourself with. Community is essential for emotional and mental well-being. We need women who will encourage us, challenge us, and walk with us through every season of life. No woman should navigate wellness alone.

The Power of Community: My Story

Recently, I faced one of the hardest moments as a mother—navigating my daughter’s health concerns. As a nurse practitioner, I’m used to being the one who provides care, but nothing prepares you for the emotional weight of watching your child struggle.

In the midst of uncertainty, my community of women showed up for me in ways I didn’t even know I needed. They prayed with me, checked in on me, encouraged me, and reminded me that I wasn’t alone. They carried me when I felt weak, and in their presence, I found the strength to keep going.

This experience solidified something I’ve always believed: every woman needs a community of women who will gather around her in both the joyful and challenging seasons of life.

Why She Chose Wellness Is More Than a Blog—It’s a Community

She Chose Wellness isn’t just a place to learn about physical health, stress management, or hormonal wellness—it’s a place where women can find support, encouragement, and real connection. It’s my hope that the women who follow this blog feel seen, valued, and uplifted in their own journeys.

This Women’s History Month, I encourage you to invest in your wellness and your community. Surround yourself with women who pour into you—and be that woman for someone else. Investing in your wellness journey and surrounding yourself with women who are like- minded are some of the most important ways you can be intentional and make wellness your best accessory!

Your sister in wellness,

Lauren
